Our Story
Since 1989, Technicom Nord-Ouest has deployed and maintained telecommunications networks across Eastern Canada. Based in Saint-Mathieu-d’Harricana, the company has grown from a regional contractor into an industry leader, delivering large-scale projects that connect businesses and communities, including in remote areas.
Family-owned and proud of its roots, Technicom Nord-Ouest carries on the vision of its founders, Ghislain Lanoix and Julie Carignan: personalized service, reliability, and a strong commitment to every client and community.

Timeline
Technicom Nord-Ouest founded
Ghislain Lanoix and Julie Carignan founded Technicom Nord-Ouest Inc. in St-Mathieu-d’Harricana. The company began operations specializing in the installation of telephone and radio communications networks across the Abitibi-Témiscamingue region.
Regional cellular pioneers
Technicom Nord-Ouest actively participated in the rollout of the first cellular networks across Abitibi-Témiscamingue and Northern Quebec, helping connect several rural communities to the mobile network for the first time. Our expertise also brings us to Northern Ontario and other regions of Quebec, steadily expanding our presence.
Expansion and large-scale projects
Building on its regional reputation, Technicom Nord-Ouest secured major contracts and expanded operations into new regions: Outaouais, Mauricie, Côte-Nord, and even the Magdalen Islands. We built complete telecommunications towers for major national operators and demonstrate our ability to deliver complex projects in a wide range of environments (remote forests, mountain peaks, etc.).
Service diversification
Recognizing the evolving needs of our clients, we diversified our services. Technicom Nord-Ouest launched its structured cabling division and begins offering the installation of internal networks (network cabling, fiber optics, enterprise Wi-Fi) in addition to external infrastructure. At the same time, we also expanded our services to include IP surveillance systems, DAS networks, and cellular signal boosters to our services, expanding our offering to local businesses and institutions. This diversification enables us to become a one-stop shop for our clients, capable of handling all their telecommunications needs—from the tower to the wall outlet.
Infrastructure Ownership and Strategic Partnerships
To expand its service offering, Technicom Nord-Ouest created a division dedicated to infrastructure management: Pylan Solutions. Created as a standalone tower infrastructure division, this new entity operates a portfolio of telecommunications towers owned by Technicom Nord-Ouest, open to any operator wishing to install its equipment. This marks a turning point for the company, positioning the company not only as a builder, but also as an infrastructure provider for telecommunications operators. Through this initiative, we enable regional companies to use our structures to deliver their services to the public, improving connectivity in areas that were previously underserved.
35th anniversary
Technicom Nord-Ouest celebrates 35 years of innovation and dedication to the telecommunications industry. This year also marks our increased presence in Eastern Canada: we now operate from Northern Ontario to the Maritime provinces. Building on more than three decades of success, Technicom Nord-Ouest looks to the future with confidence, ready to take on the challenges of the next wave of technological innovation (5G, smart cities, IoT) while continuing to provide personalized service to our long-standing clients.
